Fresh from our digital labs: The Além iPhone app

As we look to create the next generation event, mobile technology will play a critical role to enhance experience by connecting event goers with other people and real time information. This application serves as a prototype to demonstrate mobile technology and it’s role to enhance a branded event experience.

Connecting people with people and people with content in real time is what this app is all all about. Event attendees can stay connected with those physically present at an event while also sharing experiences across social networks. Users of the application can logging and share simply by using their FaceBook or Twitter accounts.

We have done enough events to know there are always last minute changes in venues and schedules. Push notifications will allow you to keep people informed of whats happening and where. Again the idea to use mobile solutions to create the best possible experience and never leave people guessing.

Delivering results is the cornerstone of any successful event. This app not only serves as a tool to increase participant engagement but also as a tool for building your permission marketing database. Users of the application can opt in to your email list by simply completing a short form.

Take a test drive of the Além iPhone app by downloading it here.

We hope you enjoy our updates and look forward to your participation.

Extending a press conference to a global audience

Recently Fisker Automotive selected the Wilmington Assembly plant in Wilmington Delaware to build it’s plug-in hybrid cars. The announcement was made by Fisker executives along with Vice President Joe Biden, Delaware Governor Jack Markell and other state officials. Fisker wanted to make sure this event was accessible to it’s employees, shareholders and potential customers. The challenge was that these people were scattered around the globe and the space constraints of the facility would not allow any more people to physically attend.

Our solution was to do a live broadcast and moderated chat of the event. The live stream of the press conference increased the audience size by 30%, spanned the globe and had a tremendously high level of audience engagement with a average viewing duration of 37 minutes. Live streaming turned out to be a great solution for Fisker to extend the reach of their live event and breaking down the barriers of physical space.

Guerilla Marketing or Performance?

Either way you look at this pop up event it is visually awesome! It is also a great demonstration of the opportunity to create branded entertainment and catch people on their way. What brands should note about an event like this is that within a couple of minutes there are literally dozens of people who have stopped to see what is going on. We are seeing many clients starting to redefine what an event is. In this case the event is the ad-hoc formation of a group of people to experience something unique that was a totally unplanned, yet delightful.
